The search was actually started several years prior to the move, but a conscious decision was made to remain at Aras’ prior location for 18 months on a renewal.
During that time Aras made the decision to open source their suite of enterprise production-ready software, and this removal for up-front capital and expensive software licensing requirements changed their business plan and increased their client base and overall profitability.
