Boston MA – Mark Stevens, Principal of The Stevens Group, has been elected President of the Commercial Brokers Association (CBA) for 2008.Originally established as CLIC (Commercial Leasing and Investment Committee), the Commercial Brokers Association became a recognized division of the Greater Boston Real Estate Board in April of 2001.

CBA Awards DinnerCBA is deeply committed to providing superior education and networking programs to its industry members, whose membership has now grown to over 400, including every major local and national real estate firm with a presence in Boston.  Among the events presented by CBA each year is the annual Awards Banquet, in which various leaders and segments of the industry receive recognition for their accomplishments.  The awards presented at this event include Office Deal of the year, Industrial Deal of the year, Retail Deal of the year, Life Sciences Deal of the year, and Investment Deal of the year.  CBA also bestows the prestigious recognition awards to the Landlord of the year, Rookie of the year and the Broker of the year.  This years Banquet was held on March 6, 2008 at the Intercontinental Hotel.

CBA has become the leader in providing educational programs to the industry with 12-hour continuing education courses, a host of topical and timely breakfast programs and various networking events throughout the year.  CBA also hosts two charity events a year (Golf Tournament & Bike Race) which raises funds for Caritas Communities, a provider of housing for the disadvantaged.

Stevens, a 30 year veteran of the industry, stated “In view of the dynamic changes in our industry, CBA will need to be more proactive and creative in order to deliver value and relevant services to its members.  I am honored to be the president of this association, and look forward to a challenging and rewarding year.”
